Business Development Executive

We are seeking a highly motivated, independent Commission-Only Business Development Executive to spearhead our client acquisition efforts. This is a purely performance-based role designed for top-tier sales professionals who thrive on closing deals and building a book of business from the ground up. Your success is our success, and your compensation will directly reflect the revenue you generate.
Key Responsibilities: (What You Will Do)
New Business Development & Quota Achievement
- Full-Cycle Sales Ownership: Own the entire sales process from initial prospecting and outreach to contract negotiation and closing new client deals for Express Media’s service offerings.
- Prospecting Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for identifying, targeting, and engaging decision-makers at target companies such as music and entertainment industry professionals, media companies, and lifestyle brands.
- Outreach: Utilize cold calling, email campaigns, networking, and social selling (especially LinkedIn) to generate a consistent pipeline of qualified leads.
- Consultative Selling: Conduct in-depth discovery meetings to understand client marketing objectives, pain points, and budget, positioning Express Media as the strategic solution.
- Presentation: Create and deliver compelling proposals and presentations tailored to client needs and Express Media’s capabilities.
Client Relationship Management
- Seamless Handoff: Ensure a smooth transition of the new client to the production/operations team, providing clear context on scope and client expectations.
- Initial Account Health: Maintain a strong relationship with new clients during the onboarding and initial service period to ensure satisfaction and identify immediate opportunities for expansion.
- Renewal & Upsell Support: Lay the groundwork for future renewals and upsells, ensuring long-term client value and ongoing commission eligibility.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven track record (minimum 2+ years) in B2B sales, specifically selling media, advertising, marketing, or professional services.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Highly self-motivated, disciplined, and comfortable managing time and activity without direct daily supervision.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills—you must be able to sell our value proposition to C-level executives and decision-makers.
- Resilience: Demonstrated ability to manage rejection and maintain a positive, results-driven attitude in an outbound sales environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of current digital marketing trends, content platforms, and media buying is a major plus.
- Tools: Proficient with CRM software (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and outreach tools.
